BORACAY ISLAND, — Four Canadian and American expatriates and a Filipino lawyer have individually filed a case of estafa with the Aklan Provincial Prosecutor's Office Monday against a Filipina who claims to own vast properties in this resort island.
In a press conference, the complainants presented themselves as Canadians Peter Eckart and Peter Tayler-Anderson, Spencer and Evelyn Anderson, and Filipino lawyer, Lucas Licerio, all residents of Boracay Island who said they were “duped” by a certain Dolly Khana who claimed to be the proprietor of Boracay Luxury Homes.
"Khana have duped the foreigners of around P100 million for the past years and they want to get their money back. They are businessmen in the United States wanting to retire for good in the country but the suspect duped them by promising them real property ownership in Boracay," said Atty. Gina Garcia, their lawyer.
Licerio said that in 2007, Khana approached him as agent to sell his lots in Boracay Island. She then turned around and, claiming ownership of Licerio’s lots on the island, sold these to the foreigners.
"We believe Khana has victimized more foreigners who are afraid to come out in the open for certain reasons. We have documents to show that Khana have already been convicted of estafa charges in California, USA," said Garcia.
She said that they presented themselves in a press conference to encourage other victims to come out in the open and, at the same time, warn other would-be investors against dealing with Khana.
The Anderson couple also claimed that they have been harassed by Khana and allegedly made threats against their lives if they pursue plans to press charges against her in court. The Andersons have filed complaints with the police comprised of eight alleged harassment cases they said they experienced with Khana.
The complainants also said that both the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) deemed Khana's Boracay Luxury Homes and other attached companies as unregistered and that Khana is not a taxpayer.
“One of Khana’s schemes is to put out full-page color advertisement in several national magazines and other prominent publications in the country, all promoting her Boracay Luxury Homes. Khana seemed to be an influential person," said Garcia.
One source in Boracay said Khana is a “Fil-American and is presumably a relative of former Secretary Ignacio Bunye.”
Last October 8, a dozen National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents along with a crew from broadcast firm, ABS-CBN Iloilo swooped down on this resort island following reports that a group of children were being held hostage by Licerio. The reports turned out to be false, with Licerio believing that Khana had been behind the false information given to the NBI and the broadcast media outfit.
Khana is believed to be in Boracay, avoiding attempts by the media to get her side of the story.

Tyler Anderson is also a known drug user in Canada practicing medicine under the influence of prohibited narcotics under Canadian Law. Tyler Anderson’s email address (drxtyc@hotmail.com) even has references to illegal drugs more specifically MDMA or more commonly referred to as “Ecstasy”.
Our client has not victimized any foreigners. These four individuals mentioned in the blog as “American Expats” are in fact Canadian Nationals with no visible known source of income and are thus not legitimate businessmen. Thus, these “American Expats” have opened up their own illegally run real estate office in Bolabog and have been attempting to sell Mrs.Khanna’s properties located within the Cliff area. Attorney Lucas C. Licerio detained all my client’s staff inside the Cliff by padlocking the gate, barricading house/roadways and detaining them inside my house from 1:00 A.M. of 03 October 2010. There were armed Security Guards outside the Khanna’s house and Licerio threatened all the Khanna’s staff, that anyone who tries to get out will be shot. The child of my house keeper was not allowed to get out and attend school. They went further as to cut my client’s main water line forcing her staff to drink out of the swimming pool for 8 days and denying and food deliveries. Medical reports issued by two different clinics in Boracay will clearly show the malnourished and severely dehydrated conditions of the detained workers for the Khanna’s. Spouces Spencer and Evelyn Anderson, Katherine Bliss, D’Arcy Kelly were all in conspiracy to a crime with attorney Licerio and planned the illegal detention and forcible entry within the house of Katerine Bliss October 2, 2010 leading into the morning of October 3, 2010. Around 2am October 3, 2010 Khanna’s staff and workers can hear cheering of the coconspirators in celebration of their successful illegal detention and forcible takeover of Dolly Khanna’s property. No foreigner has the right to abuse any Filipinos in our country! The necessary cases have been filed against these people and the staff of Khanna’s will seek justice.

These foreign expats publically smoke marijuana and set a bad example for the youth and young children in Boracay. People like these people are not welcome in this country, blatant disrespect for the Philippine laws. Spencer Anderson arrogantly brags that he buys marijuana next door to the police station in Boracay. They openly flaunt that they are above the law; they are described as at the least, “Undesirable Aliens”.
In view of all the forgoing, our client Mrs. Khanna reiterates that the blog against her is defamatory, false, malicious, and libelous and she is warning all those responsible persons that she will file all such necessary legal action such as but not limited to criminal, civil, and administrative against said personas to protect her reputation and honor. few years now and we have not only has our business relationship flourished but so has our friendship.

ReplyDeleteI personally have had the pleasure of knowing Dolly Khanna for years. This is disgraceful that people could write such terrible things about such a hardworking woman. The lies written here are a foolish attempt at destroying Mr.s Khanna's reputation. My wife and I had purchased a house from Mrs. Khanna in the past, and couldn't be more pleased with the business and loyalty she has shown us.

It is almost comedic they have to say that she is avoiding any media to get her side, her clients are her proof that she is a reputable woman, and her business follows. In all actuality, The Andersons, attorney Gina Garcia, attorney Licerio, and many others should be the ones trying defend their dishonest names.
Mr. and Mrs. Khana have made my family's dream vacation home a reality. Being born in the Philippines we love to come to our home land and have paradise in Boracay. They made it possible by assisting us with all of our needs like choosing the right house layout that will complement my famiiy's' personalities. Fixtures and finishing are often a complicated decision and Mrs. Khana made it a stress free process by assisting with all of our invisions and making it all possible. All the accusations made by Spencer, Eveyln and their families are false. Mr and Mrs. Khana are the number one housing developers on Boracay island and are trying to be robbed of all their hard work in developing this beautiful development in paradise. The slander derives from Dolly's disbarment case against Attorney Gina Garcia. Mrs. Garcia has taken a vengeful role conspiring with the help of the Andersons and Lucas Licerio. Mrs. Garcia has a long criminal of cheating her clients on the island of Boracay, In addition she has a scrupulous track record of paying off government official's and court judges to protect her license to practice law in the philippines and to win her case's she has filled against innocent business personal like mr. and mrs. Khana. The only negative aspect of the island of Boracay is that we have foreigners like Kate Bliss teaching our young children of the island in the field of education when she is a strong user of illegal narcotics. We will make sure that the new president of the philippines and the Secretary of Tourism are well informed of the lawlessness and total disregard for the law that Gina Garcia, Lucas Licerio, the Andersons , Kate bliss and D'Arcy Kelly commonly practice on the island of Boracay . ReplyDeleteIt's a shame that the Anderson's have turned against Dolly dispite all the generous things she had done for them such as let them borrow furniture,free genset usage for over one year, paid over 300,000php for their interior decorator that they refused to pay, many dinner,etc.
ReplyDeleteDolly Khanna has contributed so much to the Island of Boracay and the Philippines by providing hundreds of jobs and her philanthropic endevors and WE Philippines International helping the children of Smokey Mountain. The only thing the Anderson,s have contributed to in the Philippines is keeping the local drug dealers in business and Spencer Anderson getting his house keeper pregnant and building her and his new baby a kubo in Diniwid to hide their dirty little secret.
I have seen the gorgeous home that Dolly build for the Anderson,s which would easilybe in the multi millions of Canadian Dollors anywhere in the world for a tenth of the price in Boracay. I don't understand why they continue to harass Dolly for she is defenitely heaven sent and a huge asset to country of the Philippines for her love and compassion for the people here.
I personally met Dolly Khanna and her husband Sumit Khanna last summer during my vacation in Philippines. I am a Canadian citizen who traveled the world and met a number of inspiring people and I must say that Dolly is one of them.

She`s an intelligent leader who knows exactly how the business world functions and how to get to the top. She inspired me so much and thanks to her I opened my eyes on many ambitions. After spending sometime together, I realized how Dolly and I are similar in so many ways and since I`m just starting my career I realized that I have everything it takes to become a successful business woman just Dolly. She is passionate, selfless, positive and extremely giving person.
After reading the above nonsense I must say it is no surprise to me that people would invent such story simply because of jealousy and in order to get rid of such a high competition on the island of Boracay. Due to her international experience, Dolly has everything it takes to build and develop a business like Boracay Luxury Homes. This of course will bother many people around who just can’t stand seeing the success of others. Jealousy is proven to psychologically drive people to do unexpected, horrible, out-of control actions and especially in the world of business and money this is not a surprise.
I must say that the above written `article` is very unprofessional since it only shows one side of the story subverting the poor Canadians etc. to complete innocent victims. In order to be able to write a successful article to inform people, the author should be able to present both sides of the story neutrally; and this is not the case!
It’s a shame that positive people like the Khanna family have to lose their precious time on insignificant people like that.
My friendship with Dolly and Sumit Khanna continues until this day and I am hoping that one day I will be able to work with Boracay Luxury homes and continue learning from one of the most charismatic business women I’ve ever met. For now, I wish and I know that the truth will come out sooner or later and the punishment will remind everyone that God exists.
I know that one day Dolly will be free of this useless tress and continue replenish her beautiful mother country.

In the brief time that I have known Dolly and Sumit Khanna, I have discovered them to be kind-hearted, decent people who fear the Lord and make it their mission to help the poor. From what I know as one of their lawyers, they were not the ones who are fooling the foreigners or anyone for that matter. Documents we have in possession show that it is Atty. Lucas Licerio who has been fooling the foreigners, including the Khannas. He is facing Estafa charges and will soon face disbarment proceedings, as Atty. Gina Garcia is currently facing now. The foreigners involved who believed Licerio and Garcia will also soon face charges. First thing's first, though.

When the dust settles . . . the Khannas will pursue all legal avenues to make sure Licerio, Gina Garcia, and the foreigners never trifle with the law again.

The statement “Khana is believed to be in Boracay, avoiding attempts by the media to get her side of the story” is invalid. I haven’t been in Boracay since beginning of August 2010, therefore accusations that I am in Boracay avoiding the media are simply ridiculous. ReplyDeleteI have known Dolly and Sumit Khanna while I was still living and working in Boracay Island. Dolly Khanna became a close friend, sister, mentor and confidant, mother to a lot of people. She who never ceased to help others no matter their social status in life are/were. I have personally received so many heartwarming acts of her kind, loving and giving nature. She has helped me deal with political issues on the local government when I faithfully struggled on my former job as Operations Manager of Juice Bar. She was the one who supported me when my former employer betrayed my loyalty and took their side against me. I haven't met any other person besides Dolly Khanna who is willing to give and provide all the help I needed without asking something in return. This is how much respect I have for her.
ReplyDeleteI personally met Gina Garcia-Aguirre and her husband at Cantinetta when I visited Dolly and Sumit Khanna at their Rockwell residence. I remembered how Gina Garcia-Aguirre even told Dolly to ask me to temporarily leave them so I wouldn't be able to witness and learn the favors they asked, various proposals they laid out and a Palawan property they tried to sell. I remembered commenting to Dolly Khanna afterwards about the negative impression and vibes that Gina Garcia-Aguirre and her husband emanated based on the short amount of time I spent with them. It is truly shameful that they did such hideous, condescending and demented acts towards Dolly and Sumit Khanna and their people after they trusted them with their businesses and how they earned so much from them.
I witnessed how a lot of people from different walks of life received such grandiose kindness and generosity from Dolly Khanna. People who were from fortunate upbringing, people who held important positions in the local government, people who never learned to read and write, people who have insufficient means, people who have terminal illnesses, people who mattered most to her heart and blood all were embraced, accepted and cared for by one of the most loving and brilliant person I have ever met. Painfully, those people whom she gave shelter and fed with her own hands weren't satisfied with what she shared and they wanted more, they wanted all the has worked hard for. Greed, jealousy and discontentment took over their evil and ungrateful selves. I have been a victim myself of those unappreciative, backstabbing and low life people who tried to destroy my friendship with Dolly Khanna.
I have seen how she altruistically helped the Aetas, the original settlers of our Island, less fortunate individuals and their families during calamities and untoward incidents and share her blessings for their everyday means of survival. Dolly Khanna's admirable gestures which I haven't seen from those people who claim that they are protecting and preserving our Paradise's beauty, environment and welfare. Those individuals who have a prominent and strong family lineage in Boracay Island who didn't even lift a finger when their help were much needed.
I made this comment a little too late because I had been away and didn't learn until I accidentally browsed this blog tonight. I am truly hurt to find out what those monsters did to Dolly Khanna and the people at the Cliff Estate. I don't know how people like Gina Garcia-Aguirre and her husband, the ungrateful and horrible foreign thrashes sleep at night. I'm sorry you all became like that.
I truly wish that the people who are abusing Boracay Island will now stop their selfish and evil ways. I have traveled the world and I haven't had another place which touched and enchanted my soul with unexplainable beauty, charm and character. People like Dolly Khanna made Boracay Island more special for I consider the Island as my refuge, my Paradise and my home.
